The filming of Paramount Pictures’ Mission: Impossible 7 was suspended due to concerns about the spread of coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2). According to the original production plans, it was supposed to start on February 20 and continue for three weeks.

Paramount Pictures said that the decision was taken “for an excess of caution for the health of the actors and operators and given the efforts of the Venetian authorities to limit public gatherings in response to the threat of the coronavirus”. Production said it would continue “to monitor the situation and work together with health authorities and local government to see how it evolves”.
In March, the shooting of the film was to move to Rome. Stopping filming a movie is a rare measure that can result in many economic losses. The film, starring Tom Cruise, is scheduled for release in July 2021.
